СтранаСоединенные Штаты Америки

Wallace De Pue earned his Ph.D. in music composition and theory at Michigan State University, U.S.A. His major professor was Dr. H. Owen Reed. In 1966, he joined the faculty of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He retired in 1998. Approximately 55 of Dr. De Pue’s works (for nearly all media) have been published by major publishers. Three of his operas have been produced: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (recorded by Oceans Records, Los Gatos, CA.), Something Special (televised several times), and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (now published by Keiser Music Productions). In 2007, Dr. De Pue was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in Music, by the Board of Directors for the Hamilton/Fairfield Symphony Orchestra, because of his 35-minute composition for choir and orchestra entitled, The Bird, Frog and Tree Club. In April 2008, Dr. De Pue won a commission from the Michigan Music Teachers Association. The premiere of his Fiddler and the Dragon was a stunning success.
