Przybylski Dariusz, organist and composer, b. 28th July 1984 in Konin. In 2003 he graduated from the State Secondary School of Music in Konin, where he studied organ with Hanna Buczkowska. He graduated with honors Magna cum Laude from F. Chopin Music Academy (now the Music University) in Warsaw where he studied composition with Marcin Błażewicz and organ with Andrzej Chorosiński.
In the academic year 2006-07 he was granted a Socrates/Erasmus scholarship to study in the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne composition with York Höller, electronic composition with Hans Ulrich Humpert, instrumentation with Krzysztof Meyer and organ with Johannes Geffert.
In 2010, he received a doctorate in musical arts in the F. Chopin University of Music and earned the highest degree in composition (Konzertexamen) from the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe where he studied with Wolfgang Rihm.
He has been selected to take part in the Programme for the Promotion of 13 Composers (2007-2010), organized by the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Centre.
He was been granted the titles: Primus Inter Pares 2007 (2nd in the Mazovian Region) and Primus Inter Pares 2008. He has participated in master classes of composition (taught by Olga Neuwirth, Paul Edlin, Dominic Muldowney, Roderick Watkins, Philip Wilby), organ music interpretation (by Karol Gołębiowski, Edgar Krapp, Gerhard Weinberger, Gary Verkade, Wolfgang Zerer), and organ improvisation (by Tomasz Adam Nowak, Daniel Roth).
Dariusz Przybylski is a winner of numerous composer and organ competitions. He also received a scholarship of the Young Talents ZE PAK Foundation (2003), a Ministry of Culture scholarship (2003, 2006), a scholarship from the Leopold Kronenberg Banking Foundation (2005), the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2006), scholarships from Keimyung Research Foundation (2006), Socrates/Erasmus (2006), Young Poland (2007), the Polish Television (as an award in the programme Creative Valley, 2008), DAAD-Scholarship 2009/10.
As an organist, Dariusz Przybylski has given concerts in many Polish cities as well as abroad. New music has pride of place in his repertoire, and he has given numerous first performances of new works. He also performs as an improviser.
His compositions have been performed in, among others, the Polish Radio Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio in Warsaw, during the International Evenings of Organ and Chamber Music in Kłodzko (2004), Music Days in Mikołów (2005), the Adam Didur Festival in Sanok (2005), the �Musica Sacra� International Festival in Warsaw (2005), the Musica Polonica Nova Festival in Wrocław (2006), Musica Moderna Festival in Łód� (2006), International Days of Music by Cracow�s Composers (2006), the New Music � New Faces Festival (2006, 2007), Warsaw Music Encounters (2007, 2008), Poznań Music Spring (2008), the Festival of Music Competition Winners in Bydgoszcz (2008), Crossdrumming Festival (2008), The Gaude Mater International Festival of Sacred Music in Częstochowa (2008), the Warsaw Autumn fringe events (2006-08), as well as abroad in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, and Belarus.
Przybylski's music can be found on compact discs (released by DUX, Megavox, and POLMIC). The CD with his Bogurodzica (Mother of God, 2003) for solo organ performed by Andrzej Chorosiński on the organ of the Basilica in Licheń became a Double Platinum Disc, whereas his CD �20 Years of the Organ Conversatorium in Legnica� (DUX) was nominated for the Fryderyk Award of the Polish music industry in 2005.
In 2006, Przybylski took part in the international composition project Mozart Pyramid held in Canterbury (England) as part of the Mozart Year, as well as in the project 60 Commissions for the 60th Anniversary of the Polish Composers' Union. Dariusz Przybylski is a member of the PCU Youth Circle, in which he held the function of secretary in 2006-08. Since 2008, he has been the President of the Youth Circle.
His scores have been published by Verlag Neue Musik in Berlin.
