Violist Michael Kimber has composed over 50 works, mostly for viola solo (both unaccompanied and accompanied), viola ensemble, and string orchestra. His goal is simply to write attractive, approachable music that can be appreciated on first hearing and that people will want to hear and play again. He recently received an award from the American Viola Society in recognition of his contributions to viola repertoire.
