Ludger Hofmann-Engl was born in Bamberg (Germany). He studied composition at the Conservatory Nuremberg and later piano at the sacred institute Erlangen piano. He obtained his MA in musicology, philosophy and physics at the Technical University Berlin. Following his relocation to London, he obtained his PhD in psychology at Keele University. More recently, he has been undergoing regular training as a support worker and as a safeguarding children officer.
Besides, his work as a composer and researcher, he has been involved in a number of music educational projects. He currently manages a charity in Croydon working with families with children under 5.
