Jan Gunnar Hoff short summary (full details in Norwegian CV): Educated at the Trondheim Conservatory Jazz dep. and NMH, Oslo. Teaching at different levels since 1977. Active as freelance musician since 1979. Participated in projects with Arild Andersen, Jan Garbarek 1983/1987. Composer with 150 works, among them prestigous commisions for Vossajazz and other major festivals in Norway, involving both Norwegian and international participants. Touring and recording with artists like Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Maria Joao, Kenwood Dennard, Martin France, Alex Acuna. Present bandsettings: Trio with Alex Acuna from 2007. Concerts 2008-2010 in New York, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Zagreb, London. CD release 2009, DVD for DW drums 2010. Trio with Audun Kleive and Bjørn Kjellemyr (from 1993). 6 CD recordings. Concerts in London, Paris, Copenhagen, Kiev a.o. Collaborations with Tore Brunborg, Per Jørgensen, Knut Riisnæs, Pat Metheny, Mike Stern a.o. Present positions: Professor at UiT in Tromsø and at UiA in Kristiansand.
