Samuel Andreyev was born in Kincardine (Canada) in 1981. His initial studies took place at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Following his move to France in 2003, Samuel Andreyev studied composition initially with Allain Gaussin before entering the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied composition with Frédéric Durieux and obtained his analysis prize under Claude Ledoux. Samuel Andreyev attended the Darmstadt summer courses in 2010 and Royaumont in 2006. Also active as an oboist, he completed his studies on the instrument with Didier Pateau. His works are performed in Europe, in North America and in Asia.
