Born in El Salvador in 1973. Interested since his childhood in music and painting, he starts very early guitar and organ studies, and explores many different musical experiences and styles (rock, pop, folklore, classical). In 1999, after having obtained his architecture degree, he goes to Switzerland to study composition with Eric Gaudibert and Nicolas Bolens, and electroacoustic with Emille Ellberger and Rainer Boesch. He obtains his diploma with a mention of honor, and at the same time the American award Edmund Pendleton for the best 2004 diploma. Later he earns in Geneva a second diploma of Music Theory Teaching with an essay about « time and music » and a master in composition with M. Jarrell, Eric Daubresse and Luis Naón. Later, he obtains in Lugano a master in Orchestral Conducting with enphasis in contemporary music, and in Paris a Master in Musicologie with a work about "Musical Figures". Furthermore, he is co-founder of the Vortex Ensemble, a Swiss association aming to support the creation and diffusion of young new music. He has been invited to participate as a composer or as a lecturer in many festivals (Centre Acanthes 06 and 08 in France, Encuentro de Compositores Iberoamericanos del INJUVE 07 et 08 in Spain, Festival de Música Contemporánea de El Salvador, Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica) and continues his education within the frame of a doctor’s degree at the University of Geneva and Paris 8, with Horacio Vaggione and Etienne Darbellay. His music is often inspired by painting and architectural elements, and recalls the magic, the spirituality and the Earth proper to folklore. Moreover, his particular interest in spatial and temporal perception may be appreciated in his works. Parallel with composition, he teaches guitar and music theory and works as a conductor.
