Ryan Youens is a freelance composer, copyist and arranger. He has studied at the New Zealand School of Music, Otago University and Auckland University and holds Bachelor of Music (first class honours) and Master of Music degrees. As a composer, Ryan’s music has been performed throughout New Zealand and internationally, including working with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra on a number of occasions. As a copyist, Ryan is well regarded, working for leading ensembles, composers and music organisations. As an arranger, Ryan’s work for concerts, film and television have been well received, including string arrangements for Rhian Sheehan’s Qantas-award-winning score for TV2’s ‘The Cult’.
