Penelope Thwaites is a concert pianist and composer of theatre music as well as solo and choral vocal works and instrumental works. Her music is melodic and accessible, but well constructed. She is published by Bardic Edition, and her music is also available through the Australian Music Centre, which also provides a full Composer Biography and List of Works and Recordings.
Her musical 'Ride!Ride!' - a true dramatic story from the life of John Wesley with libretto by Alan Thornhill - has been recorded on SOMM recordings and is published by Bardic. It was professionally produced in London back in 1976 but has since been extensively revised - the SOMM recording is correct, the old LP is not. The show is produced from time to time by various amateur groups.
