Karl's compositions span the classical, jazz and popular spectrum, and he writes mostly for small chamber ensembles although he is venturing into the realm of full concert wind ensembles and orchestra. Never deviating too far from melody-based themes, his music is accessible by advanced amateur musicians and fun to listen to and perform. Karl lives in Palo, Alto, California and is a member of NACUSA (National Association of Composers--USA, San Francisco Bay Chapter) and the Monterey Composer's Forum. He is an accomplished clarinetist and saxophonist.
