Having started out as a composer of chamber and orchestral music, Peter moved on to writing music for the theatre. He is now best known for having written and conducted the premiere of Desire, a 2-Act musical/music theatre piece for male soloists and male chorus plus a 13-piece band, dealing with the lives of ordinary gay Americans in the 1970s and leading to the sudden shocking impact that AIDS had on their lives. The music was very well reviewed in The Times of London and on Chroma, the LGBT arts review website. On the strength of this, further productions can be expected in the UK, US and elsewhere. The next project is a two-act opera, The Twins, set in classical Egypt and based on the tragic true story of the so-called Sarapion Twins.
Peter also plays accordion with the East European Folk/Klezmer band Beskydy, and is available as arranger, copyist and conductor.
