Li YunHe is a versatile artist who assumes a multitude of roles in his music career being composer, music producer, piano accompanist, music theory and instrument instructor. Besides being the above-mentioned roles, he is verse at playing piano, violin, Yang-qin, Gu-zheng and Er hu. Li started his music training from a young age in China Guanggxi Academy of Art and thereafter, he was selected to further his study in the renowned China Xinghai Conservatory of Music. In the Conservatory, he studied music composition for five years under several distinguished artists and professors in the country and from abroad. Upon graduation in 1990, he embarked on music composing as well as music teaching to young students. Up to date, he has published numerous works and has been established as a piano accompanist at various grand events. Under his guidance several students have won prizes in national and international competitions.1991, he has Composed a Modern dance music "Kuang Ren" for The Guangdong Modern Dance Group is one of the most outstanding Troupe in the China dance circle, The group performed at Arts Festival in USA, India. For his dedicated work in music composing and teaching, he has received several international awards among them kudos from China Song Qingling Foundation, Royal Kingdom of Thailand and Ministry of Education, Singapore. After moving into Singapore in 1995, Li served as composer and trainer in Li Wei Song Music School and has acted as composer and conductor in Singapore People's Association. He was also commissioned to work for Ministry of Education, Singapore, as a music producer. In assuming the position, Li composed dozens of songs and music pieces. His works were recorded into CDs and Video CDs that correlate with textbooks including Chinese for Children and Express Chinese Textbook (3B) and others used in primary and secondary school in Singapore. One of his songs entitled "I Am a Little Young Man" was selected to represent Singapore and presented by Zheng Zhi-Jian, a Singaporean young singer, at the International Children's Art Festival, organized by Chinese Central TV Station, and "Asia Youth Concert," Japan Jul 97. Organized by NHK (a Japan TV Network.) Li's expertise is also shown in his works in multi-media music production and music score arrangements. In the past years, he worked on multi-media music scores for the songs by Sun YanZi and published a book entitled Music Scores of Songs by Sun Yanzi. His other noted works on multi-media full-scores arrangements include Majulah Singapore, the National Anthem of Singapore, and for grand concerts such as Night of Jazz hosted by Singapore Symphony Orchestra and National Opera House of Singapore. Li's sufficient knowledge and skills in this area has been well recognized. In 2004 he received guest-professorship from China Guangxi Normal University and China Guilin Teachers College and was invited to conduct a series of talks on multi-media music production by these two educational organizations. Professor Li has passionate about music teaching, especially to young music lovers. His students have been all over the region. In recent years Li has been actively involved in the Art Education Program by National Arts Council, Singapore. He has conducted music-composition courses in schools, acted as composer, instructor and conductor in several student choirs and Chinese Orchestras from primary and secondary schools. A few student troops have emerged with silver and bronze awards in national competitions organized by MOE. Li is currently music director in SYMAX Music Studio. SYMAX is armed with the most up-to-date equipment in music production and recordings. Besides specialized in multi-media music production, the Studio provides a variety of courses including piano, marimba, media-music courses and courses on vocal training, keyboard and improvisation techniques.
