Graeme Hopson

Graeme Hopson is an award-winning composer, writing a great variety of music, from piano miniatures to orchestral works. Graeme is available for commissions of original pieces or arrangements.

Graeme showed an interest in music from an early age, with his music soon attracted wider attention, winning several awards and prizes, including the Ensemble Eleven Composers Competition (2002), the Soroptimist International Society Award (2003), the Hilda Collens Memorial Award (2004) and, more recently, the Choral Director’s Prize in The Longfellow Chorus International Composers Competition (2009). Graeme’s music has been broadcast on BBC radio, and performed across the UK and USA.

Graeme studied composition with Patric Standford at the University of Huddersfield, graduating with first class honours, and with Paul Patterson at the Royal Northern College of Music, gaining a Masters’ degree in 2004.
