Steve Antosca is an American composer who lives and teaches in the Washington, DC area. His music integrates instruments with computers for real-time processing and pre-recorded audio processing. In the performance of his music, the computer plays an integral role, where performer and computer react with and reinforce each other. Through the realization of scores which juxtapose elements of non-determinacy with traditional notation, musicians craft a sonically rich performance environment.

Antosca has a Master’s degree in Computer Music Composition from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and is Artistic Director and composer member of VERGE ensemble, the modern music ensemble in residence at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. The ensemble has been described by the Washington Post as putting “modern classical music in front of the public with more dedication and skill than any other group in Washington” and “...a power hitter on Washington's modest contemporary music scene, … a national presence.”

In 2010, after numerous collaborations with the National Gallery of Art, he was invited to form the National Gallery of Art New Music Ensemble, and was appointed Artistic Director.
