Composer. Investigator. Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1954

Formed as a classic guitar and violin player, and composition and technologies.

His pieces have been played since the 1980’s and compromise different genres: chamber music, symphonic music for chorus and orchestra, for soloists and orchestra and electro acoustical music, also, he has worked on pieces that involve technologies of electronic combination, informatics and ethnic manifestations recorded “in situ”. In addition, he has written and recorded incidental music for dance, theater, movies and documentaries, in a national and international level.

His compositions have been played worldwide by distinguished interprets, during concerts conducted in the United States, England, Germany, Russia, Spain, France, Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru, Canada, Equator, Bolivia, Syria, Cuba, El Salvador and Uruguay.

He has been given, amongst others, the following composition awards.

In Venezuela, his compositions have been interpreted by the following orchestras: Simon Bolivar Orchestra, Los Llano’s Orchestra, Lara’s Orchestra, Soloist Venezuelan Orchestra, Maracaibo’s Orchestra, Falcon State’s Orchestra, Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Orchestra, Municipal Caracas Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra, “Jovenes Arcos” and Brahms Ensemble.

Pedagogical activities
2004- 2007 Principal Member of the Philharmonic Orchestra foundation and president of the artistic commission from 2005 to 2007.
2004-2005 Vice-president of the Venezuelan section of the international society of contemporary music (SIMC).
1999 La Estética. First interdisciplinary encounter. International Forum about Esthetics France-Venezuela. Director and conference man.

1974 Founder member of “la Camerata Renacentista de Caracas".


Actually he is the director of the Patrimonial Investigation project for the Estancia Art centre (Caracas Venezuela), it deals with Venezuelan music of the XIX’th century; he has already restored 14 pieces (chamber orchestra), which have been recorded in a CD entitled “Testimonios Sonoros de la Libertad” (2008) acting as chorus and orchestra director.

He has been invited to different international forums about Latin-American music as a: Latin-American music Festival (Caracas, Venezuela, 1992-1994-1998); International Composers Forum of the Caribbean (Caracas, Venezuela. 1998); International Seminar, Traditional instruments, modern world music (Cochabamba, Bolivia 2002) Casa de las Americas Forum (la Habana, Cuba. 2007), International festival of contemporary Music (San Salvador, El Salvador. 2008)

In April 2009 he will be presenting the Electro-acoustical Piece “La Fuente de muchas Lunas”, created for the Estancia Art Center during the restoration of the Plaza Venezuela fountain.
