Kerry Cobuccio (b.1980) has always had an interest in the arts, growing up playing in bands, orchestras and choirs as a child. She also has had a love for computers and technology, nurtured by her computer programming father. Classically trained, she received a bachelors degree in music theory from the University of New Hampshire and a masters degree in music composition from the University of Minnesota. A career path of becoming a college professor shifted when Kerry found herself relocated to Los Angeles California in 2006. She returned to school at the Art Institute of California, Los Angeles after discovering a passion for editing dialogue and creating sound. She will graduate in 2011.
Kerry has worked on music and sound for a variety of medium. Her roots are in classical music and has written for bands, orchestras and chamber ensembles. Her music was performed by Zeitgeist, and on KFAI in 2004. Her film scores have appeared in the International Children's Film Festival which included conventions in San Diego, Las Vegas and San Francisco. She has edited dialogue for student films and has created sound effects for a number of independent video games.
Kerry still loves to teach and has taught clarinet, music theory, composition, and general music in the Manchester Schools (New Hampshire), the University of New Hampshire Summer Youth Music School, an instructor in music theory fundamentals (University of Minnesota), and music appreciation and pop music and culture (Schoolcraft College, Michigan). She participated in the Preparing Future Faculty Program, a program that allows graduate students to mentor at a neighboring college and act as a guest lecturer.
Kerry lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Dave.
