Wish began playing the piano at age 7 in the classics studying the Western Board of Music in association with the Conservatory of Music in Brandon Manitoba, Canada. Classical recitals receiving Honors and First Class Honors with competitions garnering 1st. place, would further establish Evan as a prodigy. Classical recials and competions began at 9 years of age.
His talent performing the works of the masters instilled a deep love and devotion for the piano. As a young man, Evan began composing through inspiration. This new desire flowed freely and naturally. His desire to establish respect as a composer led him to the United States with funding provided by the Manitoba and Canadian Government in Ottawa. He studied for three years at the prestigious Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles mentored by the top working composers in the entertainment industry.
With more than 24 years in the field of music, his resume now encompasses Canada, the United States and Europe with live performances of his original music as a solo concert pianist and countless writing credits in a variety of genres and styles. Years later, studying would begin again out of his devotion and this time with the legendary, Dr. Yakov Birman of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, in his never - ending quest to evolve and develop.
His live shows around the world touch the heart and entertain the audience from start to finish. Performances in France were billed as: “La passion d’un romantique” - translated to “The passion of a romantic” which pretty much sums up the music Evan Wish creates.
Composed for theatre, ballet, children’s music, film, TV, video, radio and more.
